West Islip Girl Scouts Pack a Pantry to Feed the Hungry
The donation effort resulted in two full car loads for West Islip pantry.
The girls from WI troop 2250 know how to collect food donation. The troop members learned about the pantry at Our Lady of Lourdes needing food so they ran a "pack-a-pantry" event.
The girls spent one day leaving flyers with neighbors on Leopold, Ansonia, and Norma Ave's asking for donations. They returned on their collection night and were so happy to find so many families left bags of donations!
So keep an eye out as they'll be doing more 'packing the pantry' in coming months around West Islip.
