Islip Beach Hours Extended Post-Labor Day Timeframe

Islip Town residents get extended use as school year starts later.

The Town of Islip has extended hours at town beaches along the Great South Bay and ocean beaches for the week of September 1.

Officials say the decision was made because local school districts, including Sayville and Bayport-Blue Point, are starting classes later than usual, on September 9, this year.

Islip officials said they are working with Fire Island Ferries  to ensure that the ferry schedule will be able to meet the demands of beachgoers beyond Labor Day.

Bay Beaches:

Sayville Marina Beach, Benjamin Beach, and Islip Beach will be open Tuesday (9/3) through Sunday (9/8) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Fire Island Beaches
Atlantique Beach will be open Tuesday (9/3) through Sunday (9/8) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ocean beaches at Dunewood, Seaview, Fair Harbor, and Kismet will be open Thursday (9/5) through Sunday (9/8) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
