WI Alumni Lacrosse Report: Tough Beats for UNC, Hofstra

Here's a look at how former West Islip High School lacrosse players fared for their new schools last week.

Every Monday during the college lacrosse season, Patch will update you on the progress of former players.  Since there's so many to count, we won't be listing every player each week.

(UNC, Fr.), Ryan Flanagan (UNC, Sr.)

It was a difficult way for in Tar Heel blue.  The senior captain and his teammates weren't able to stave off a ferocious Terrapins squad that put up 13 goals and out worked UNC from the opening whistle.  (And if you didn't catch Maryland's hidden-ball-tick play, you can see it here.)

Turri recorded an assist for the fifth-seeded Blue Devils in their 15-14 first round victory over the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday.  Duke will advance to play No. 3 Notre Dame on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Ian Braddish (Hofstra, So.)

Braddish and the Hofstra Pride went into Johns Hopkins looking for their first victory at Homewood Field in the program's history.  What they came away with was a  12-5 beating at the hands of the Blue Jays.

Although a lot of chatter from the announcers focused on the t, Hopkins just proved to be too much.  Braddish tallied one assist in the ballgame.

Devan Crimi (Adelphi, Fr.)

The top-seeded Adelphi Panters will host Le Moyne this Saturday at 11 a.m. in the semifinal round of the DII National Championships.

Eddie Plompen (C.W. Post, So.)
