West Islip Girls LAX Have Bounce Back Win

Lindsay Darrell led the game with 5 goals.

After losing a disappointing game on Monday against East Islip (14-9), the West Islip girls lacrosse team recovered and earned an important win against Connetquot with a final score of 18-9.

The strong defense played Wednesday by Erin Walsh, Nicole DiLevo, Kiera Kelly, Danielle Cintorino and Nicole Cosentino held Connetquot down to only 4 goals at the half. Goalie Shannon McFadden started the game and had 6 saves and Ruthann Dooling finished in goal with 2 saves.

According to Coach Joe Nicolosi, the difference between Mondays game and todays game was an overall improvement in key areas of the game. "The girls were able to win the draws, scoop up ground balls and execute when needed."
