Girls Lax Win Last League Game

Erin Byrnes led offense with 6 goals and 5 assists.

Wednesday night, the West Islip girls lacrosse team won their last league game against Middle Country under the lights at Centereach High School.

During the first half, goals were being scored back and forth between the two teams. Going into halftime with a score of 11-9 in favor of West Islip, it was still anyone's game.

However, right from the onset of the second half it was all West Islip. The Lady Lions dominated the ball which led to an onslaught of goals.

The offense went on to score 12 more goals, while the defense stayed strong and let up three additional goals during the half. Final score of the games was 23-12.

Offense was led by Erin Byrnes who had six goals and five assists.  Lorraine Hodgson scored four goals, and Kye Nowicki and Riley Hill each had three goals. Kate Beier, Lindsey Darrell and Cara Douglas had two goals and Kelsey Allen had one goal. Goalie Ruthann Dooling had six saves.
