WIHS Students to Host Blood Drive

Will take place on Friday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. inside the girl's gymnasium.

The West Islip High School senior class would like to invite everyone to a blood drive they're hosting on Friday, Jan. 27 inside the girl's gymnasium.  The drive will run from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Brandon Ingargiola, one of the seniors organizing the event, said they're trying to improve on last year's poor showing.

"Each year we hold a blood drive, but the turn out is never that great," he said.  "Because this is our last blood drive before we graduate we really want to get a huge turn out and help save as many lives as possible."

Donors can expect the usual treatment of cookies and juice after their blood work is complete.   And not only would you be helping people in need, but it'd be quite important to the people running it.

"It would mean the world to me and all of the other students in my grade if we could get a very large turn out for this years blood drive," Ingargiola said.
