West Islip Schools Remain Closed Friday Following Sandy
Three buildings still currently without power.
All schools in the West Islip School District will remain closed Friday following widespread power outages four days after Hurricane Sandy swept through the area.
A call to parents throughout the district said the closures are due to the fact that three district buildings are still wihtout power as of mid-day Thursday.
SATs, which were scheduled to take place Saturday, have been postponed as well.
