West Islip schools will be closed for sixth consecutive day in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
In an automated call to school district residents, Superintendent Richard Simon said the high school and Bayview Elementary School — the only school in the district located south of Montauk Highway — remain without power.
If power is restored to the high school on Monday, schools will be open on Tuesday. If Bayview is still without power Tuesday and the school district reopens, it was not immediately known how students at that school would be accommodated.
All elementary-level parent-teacher conferences and Kindergarten registration scheduled for Tuesday are postponed. There will be an administrative meeting at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Beach Street Middle School and all faculty and staff are being asked to report to their respective buildings 10 a.m. on Monday for meetings, Simon said.
This explains it, tunnel vision, never left and grew up, you are acting like you are still in H.S. because nothing ever changed for you. Have a great day and remember there are people in this world with "real" problems.
By the way Frank and Beans, my pizza stone cracked, can you tell your wife I need another? Thanks.
And speaking of logistical nightmares, creating logistical nightmares just might be their forte: Did you ever witness 21 full size school busses trying to squeeze into a space designed for 12 full size school busses? That Mensa created logistical nightmare is more commonly known as the afternoon pickup at Oquenock Elementary School.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
I VOTE FOR PATCH ADAMS FOR PRESIDENT!!
