West Islip Gymnast Excels in County Championship

West Islip gymnast Courtney Von Braunsberg will compete on the New York State team, representing Suffolk County in every event.

Von Braunsberg recently broke the long-standing West Islip all around record at the Individual County Gymnastic Championship. The record was previously held by previously held by State Champion Carrissa Pirkl.

She also placed second in the all around competition, first on the vault, second on the uneven bars, and third on the balance beam and floor exercise competitions.

Von Braunsberg was joined by Lauren Coll, Paula Pecorella and Sydney Matone at the County Championship.
