Two BOE Incumbents Running Unopposed

Only contested board races pits Kevin O'Connor against Marcelle Crudele.

The West Islip Board of Education will have a new member in July as only one of the three races in next month’s election will be contested.

Kevin O’Connor and Marcelle Crudele will opposed each other for the seat being vacated by longtime trustee George Smith. In addition, current BOE Vice President Annmarie LaRosa and Trustee Scott Brady will be running for re-election unopposed.

LaRosa has served on the board the past six years and Brady has served on the BOE for the past three years.

School district residents will vote on school board candidates and the proposed 2013-14 school budget on May 21 at West Islip High School.
