Islip Town To Host July 4th Fireworks Show

Bay Shore Marina will be the site for a day long Independence Day festival.

With the Memorial Day weekend marking the unofficial start of summer, Islip Town officials are already casting an eye toward helping local residents celebrate the Fourth of July.

For the first time since 1989, Islip Town will hold a fireworks show at the Bay Shore Marina to celebrate the nation's birth. The aerial display will be part of an Independence Day festival at the marina that will include food and entertainment.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Pronto of Long Island, a Bay Shore-based community outreach center that serves more than 60,000 people.
