Suffolk County treasurer Angie Carpenter spoke at the Installation at the American Legion hall in West Islip.

Suffolk County treasurer Angie Carpenter spoke at the 2014 Installation of Officers for the Anthony Casamento Lodge in West Islip.

The lodge, which is named after a World War II hero who received the medal of honor for his heroics in battle, is a branch of the Sons of Italy, based in West Islip.  It has been an integral part of the community since its founding over 20 years ago and has given back to the community by raising money for causes like Cooley’s Anemia, Autism and Veterans.

“The Anthony Casamento Lodge is a wonderful organization for all Italian-Americans in the community,” said Carpenter. “It has given back so much in over 20 years as an organization.”
