West Islip Man Struck, Killed on Sunrise Highway
Gregory Wilson identified by police as victim of early Saturday morning crash.
A West Islip man died after being struck by a pickup truck along Sunrise Highway early Saturday morning, police said.
The pedestrian, Gregory Wilson, 27, was hit by a 2004 Ford pickup truck driving in an eastbound just east of Udall Road at approximately 5 a.m., according to Suffolk County Police.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver, Christopher Campoverde, 28, of Selden, was not injured.

No criminal charges have been filed in the fatal crash.
The investigation is ongoing, police said. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
