Police Seek Info In Deadly Hit And Run Case

SCPD looking for additional information about July 2 incident that killed Jason Nelson of Brighwaters.

Suffolk County Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a fatal hit and run incident in West Islip earlier this month.

on July 2, Jason Nelson, 27, of Brightwaters, was outside a residence on Sandra Ave. when an unknown type of vehicle traveling northbound struck him, according to police. Nelson suffered severe head injuries and was later pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

Police said the driver of the vehicle did not stop and did not report the crash. Authorities believe the incident may have been preceded by a brief altercation between Nelson and the driver of the vehicle

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or the vehicle involved to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
