Police ask for public's help to track down robber.

Suffolk County Police are asking for the public's help to identify and locate the man pictured above who they say robbed a West Islip bank last week.

Police say the man entered the People's United Bank, located inside the Stop & Shop supermarket at 400 Union Boulevard, last Friday around 3 p.m. and demanded money from a teller. The teller complied with the man’s demands and he fled the store on foot, police said.

The robber is described as a white male, between 30-40 years old, about 5-foot-10 with a thin to medium build. The man had a fair complexion, red hair and a goatee at the time of the robbery. Police say the man may also be responsible for robbing a People's United Bank in Farmingville on Aug. 2.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
