Man in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Vehicle

WI woman involved in accident on Sunday night.

A West Islip woman was involved in a car accident on Sunday that sent a 26-year-old male to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

According to police, James Walker, of Levittown, was crossing Union Boulevard at Windsor Avenue in Bay Shore around 9 p.m. when he was struck by a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am traveling westbound on Union Boulevard.

Police said Walker was admitted into Southside Hospital in critical condition.  The driver of the Grand Am, Danielle Sireci, 22, of West Islip, was not injured in the crash, police said.

Sireci's vehicle was impounded for a safety check while police continue to investigate the situation.
