DWI Charge in Two-Car West Islip Crash

One driver suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

A two-crash on Sunrise Highway in West Islip Friday night injured one driver who is now facing a DWI charge, according to police.

West Babylon resident Steven Sarvis, 27, was driving alone in a Toyota Scion eastbound when police say he rear-ended a Honda CRV driven by a female Holbrook resident. The Honda overturned and Sarvis lost control of his vehicle, hit a guardrail, and also overturned.

Sarvis was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for a non-life-threatening injury to his knee and is charged with DWI, according to police.
