DWI, Burglary Reported in Local Police Blotter

Arrests and incidents reported by the Third Precinct of the SCPD between October 27-Nov. 3.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department.  A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

  • On October 27, Kevin Heins, of Islip Terrace, was arrested in West Islip and charged with petit larceny.
  • On October 27, Martin Borenstein, of West Islip, was arrested in West Islip and charged with DWI.
  • On October 30, Kristina Miller, of West Islip, was arrested in West Islip and charged with DWI.
  • On October 31, Diane Panayiotou, of West Islip, was arrested in West Islip and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • On Nov. 1, Jack Trachtenberg, was arrested in West Islip and charged with petit larceny.

Incidents

  • On October 28, there was a report of burglary on Storey Blvd. at 8 a.m.
  • On October 30, there was a report of harassment on Beach Street at 11:24 p.m.
  • On October 30, there was a report of burglary on Bellmore Street at 11:30 a.m.
  • On Nov. 1, there was a report of grand larceny on Hawley Ave. at 6:15 p.m.

This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
