9 Indicted in 7-Eleven Sting

Federal agents raided about 10 7-Eleven stores around Suffolk County Monday morning. 

The franchise owners are accused of illegally hiring undocumented workers and sometimes cheating them of their wages. Enforcement officials called the sting the "largest criminal immigration forfeiture" in the history of the Department of Homeland Security.

The defendants face 20 years’ imprisonment on wire fraud conspiracy and alien harboring charges, as well as multiple counts of aggravated identity theft, which carries a mandatory, consecutive two-year term.

Deer Park Man Convicted of Planting Home Depot Bomb

A Deer Park man was convicted Monday of planting a pipe bomb inside a Huntington Home Depot last fall in a failed attempt to extort the national home improvement chain of $2 million, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. 

Three Arrests in Deer Park Robbery

Three people were arrested after police say they robbed a male youth behind a pizza shop on Commack Road in Deer Park around 1:13 a.m. on June 12. Richard Rossano, Alfonso Penna and Gabriel Nunez, all from Deer Park, each face a charge of  second degree robbery. Police say they robbed the victim of a cellphone, electronics and cash. 

North Babylon Man Arrested in West Islip Burglary

An 18-year-old North Babylon man was arrested on June 17 after police say he broke into a West Islip home. Police say David Kay entered a home on Babylon Avenue at 5 p.m. on Monday through a second floor bathroom window and stole a cell phone and other electronics.
