Burglars Hit 4 West Islip Homes Within a Two-Day Timeframe

Burglars hit two Tanglewood homes on the same day in late October.

Burglars broke into four West Islip homes at the end of October, within a two-day time frame, and two of the homes share the same street and were hit the same day, according to police reports.

A residence on Stanley Street was burglarized on October 29. Police say someone entered the home through a bathroom window between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. but no items were reported stolen.

On the same day, sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., someone entered a home on Tanglewood Road through an unlocked upstairs window and stole two mens watches.

Another Tanglewood Road home was also burglarized on Oct. 29. Police say an unknown person entered the home sometime between 1:20 pm and 2:05 pm, through an unlocked downstairs window, and stole jewelry. 

A burglary was reported on Gladstone Avenue on Oct. 30. Police say that sometime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. an unknown person entered the residence through rear sliding doors and stole a safe and a surveillance camera and video equipment.

The break-ins are under investigation and no arrests have been made as yet.
