SCHMIDT - Loretta C., Schmidt, formerly of West Islip, died on December 16, 2013.
She was the devoted wife of the late Robert E. Schmidt and beloved mother of Katherine and her husband Thomas J. O'Brien, III and the late Robert E., Jr. and his wife Penny Schmidt.
She was the cherished grandmother of Kiersten, Connor and Macie and dear sister of John C. Gerken, Jr.
Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Highway. Visiting is Thursday 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Babylon. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association , RXR Plaza, Suite 362, Uniondale, NY 11553.
