Helping Hands Toy Drive Set For Wednesday

Bring all toys to American Legion Post 1738 between 3-5:30 p.m.

It's been a busy few months for Helping Hands of West Islip, Inc.

Between their Thanksgiving food drive, Halloween costume drive and planning the holiday drive, founder Jen Gallozzi might be running on empty.

But on Wednesday, Dec. 7, she'll be at it again with her annual December toy drive from 3-5:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 1738.

"Having the drive held after school will allow an excellent opportunity for our children to drop off their own donations and have a first hand glimpse of how wonderful our community is, as we come together for the sake of all the precious underprivileged children throughout Suffolk County," Gallozzi said.  "I personally handed out many of your donations and was smiling for weeks reflecting upon your generosity."

Last year, Helping Hands donated over 5,000 toys and expect this year to be even bigger.  Gallozzi asks that everyone dropping off toys to make sure they're neat, clean and presentable.
