WI Thirst Project To Host Fundraiser

High school group seeks to raise funds at Buffalo Wild Wings Wednesday to help pay for fresh water well project in Swaziland.

The West Islip Thirst Project is holding a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings in North Babylon on Wednesday. The student run organization at West Islip High School will receive 15 percent of each bill (exclusive of alcohol and taxes) when local families show a flyer promoting the evening’s event.

An official chapter of ThirstProject.org, the aim of the organization is to fight the global water crisis. The West Islip chapter is working to raise between $10,000 and $12,000 to cover the cost of constructing a fresh water well in Swaziland.

To date, the West Islip group has raised more than $3,300.
