J and J rocks is a collaborative effort between Jeanne Ruland and Joanne Stoecker.
The two met while working at a small handmade jewelry shop on Long Islands North Fork. They became fast friends and shared their love for fashion, music, style and design.
Launched in 2010 J + J Rocks individually handcrafts each piece at their studio based on the North Fork of Long Island. Hand-cut precious and semi-precious stones, gold vermeil,14K gold fill and sterling silver are just some of the high quality materials used in the J+ J collection.
From a very young age Jeanne was always collecting unique stones and one-of-a-kind beads to create some whimsical piece. While her background is in Computer Science, she always felt a strong desire to be more creative. Jeanne eventually took the giant leap, returned to school in N.Y.C. and received her Graduate Gemologist degree.
Joanne on the other hand fell into jewelry by chance. A former Creative Director at a global cosmetic company in N.Y.C., she left the business and moved to the North Fork of Long Island. Needing an outlet for her creative talent Joanne began apprenticing at that same jewelry shop where Jeanne was working. Thus her passion for jewelry was born!
J + J's pieces are “stylish yet easy to wear and always make the outfit.” Their collaborative combinations and unique designs redefine the hottest new trends while always maintaining their creative aesthetic.
