What is Your Take on Presidents' Day?

It's a national holiday but what does it truly celebrate?

According to Wikipedia the current Presidents' Day, which used to be called Washington's Birthday, is always celebrated on the third Monday in Feb. in honor of the first U.S. President, George Washington.

But for savvy consumers, it's also likely one of the biggest shopping days for retail items such as furniture and cars.

For students and teachers, it typically means the start of the mid-winter break, though many students across Suffolk County aren't enjoying that this year due to lost school days during October's Hurricane Sandy.
