West Islip Stations Offer Cheapest Gas on Long Island

For at least Thursday, West Islip is the home of Long Island's lowest priced regular gas, according to LongIslandgasprices.com  The Delta  (305 Union Blvd & Higbie Ln.) and Valero stations (225 Higbie Ln & West Islip Blvd.) regular priced gas of $2.61 per gallon is the cheapest you'll find from Manhattan to Montauk.  But in order to receive that summer-low price, you must pay with cash.

Rounding out the top three is the Gas Stop station (268 Higbie Ln. & Paumanake Ave.), which offers customers regular gas at $2.65 per gallon.  All three stations fall well below the Long Island average of $2.83 per gallon and the New York State average of $2.85 per gallon.

Both the Delta and Valero stations also offer the lowest priced midgrade and premium gas, at $2.73 and $2.81, respectively. 

The national average price of regular has been dropping steadily in the last month, and is now at an August- low of $2.70 per gallon. 

This is good news for Americans.  Unfortunately, Canadians can't say the same.  They're still paying the most money in North America for gas, which is now over $3.75 per gallon.
