The Week Ahead: Clothing, Costume and Bear Drive

Plan your week around these local events.

Toddlers and their parents can enjoy storytime at the library on Tuesday. Storytime for tots ages 24 months to 41 months will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

West Islip Helping Hands is hosting their Wednesday at American Legion Post 1738. Residents can drop off gently used clothing and Halloween costumes to those in need by 9:30 a.m. Bags should be labeled with sex and size of clothing.

The West Islip Public Library is offering a free movie showing Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be served.

Also on Friday, West Islip Wines & Liquors will be offering complimentary tastes of Fulton's Pumkpin Cream, Burnett's Whipped and Larceny Bourbon from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Throughout the month of October, you can view the Pink Flags of October display on the front lawn of Good Samaritan Hospital. Hundreds of flags were placed there Sunday by the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
