P.S. I Love You Founder Brooke DiPalma Picked as West Islip Patch's Greatest Person of 2012

Readers choose DiPalma for her dedication to bullying awareness and suicide prevention.

Patch readers have spoken, and West Islip student and P.S. I Love You Founder Brooke DiPalma was named West Islip Patch's Person of the Year for 2012.

In just a year, DiPalma has transformed from a West Islip High School sophomore to bullying and suicide prevention activist.

Following the death of her father in 2010, DiPalma created a YouTube video expressing a simple message to those suffering from depression: You are not alone. Within days, the clip went viral.

She also started a P.S. I Love you Facebook page, which now has more than 2,000 followers. DiPalma continues to spread her message of love and kindness.

Schools throughout the area are preparing to celebrate the second P.S. I Love You Day on February 8.

Also, let's give a shout out to Thea Waters, Erin Kelly, Marisa Penna, Shannon McKeefery, Amber Kortwright, Catherine Herzlinger, Jillian Danielle, Riley Wallace, Sandy Marahaj, Cayla Romano, Nicole Rich, Franki Dorfman and Charlize Mathews of Troop 2250, and Chris Hillier. They followed DiPalma closely in the voting.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Has anyone been able to find out if we are losing money renting this building to this for profitRead More preschool? If I under stood correctly from previous post's, there may be some friendship with one or more BOE members which paved the way for their lease.
