The occupants of a home on 49th Street in North Lindenhurst received an unwelcome surprise on Friday afternoon when a black Nissan Altima sedan into it.

Babylon Village
Several Babylon Village residents have long wanted a farmer's market to come to town. Although Islip Village and Deer Park both host nearby markets during the peak growing season of June through November, Babylon Village has never had its own outdoor market for produce growers and specialty food vendors. A group of residents is hoping to change that: Brian and Joann Donnelly are helping to organize the effort, along with a committee of a dozen volunteers.

If the name, or the people behind the counter at First Choice Sports in Bayport seem familiar, then it’s likely because you stopped at their prior location in the SunVet Mall in Holbrook. The sports card and memorabilia shop opened in its new location last month in the small strip center caddy-corner from Snedecor Avenue on Montauk Highway.

Two Patchogue residents and one Florida resident were convicted on April 20 by a federal jury of bank fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering as part of a mortgage-fraud scheme, according to Pamela Marsh, a United States attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Half Hollow Hills
To earn their Silver Award four girls from Half Hollow Hills Girl Scout Troop 362 decided they wanted to help children less fortunate than themselves. Raquel Golinowski, Sarah Kaplan, Lauren Kreinces and Alexandra Parker chose to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island - a home-away-from-home for the families of seriously ill children undergoing critical medical treatment in area hospitals.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
