Snow Totals: 19 Inches in West Islip

Medford had the most snow on Long Island with 33.5 inches.

Nearly every corner of Suffolk County was covered in more than a foot of snow, according to statistics compiled by the National Weather Service.

According to our estimates and nearby totals from the NWS, West Islip residents had to shovel out of 19 inches of the white stuff.

Along the south shore, Medford clocked in at the Island-wide high of 33 inches, while Upton and Central Islip also had more than 30 inches.

The Feb. 8 blizzard hammered the Town of Islip, which said it is pulling out all the stops to get roads cleared as soon as possible.
