Local Gas Prices Continue to Rise

In a five month span, West Islip's cheapest regular gas prices increased from $2.61 to $3.21 per gallon.

West Islip gas prices continue to be on the incline, according to LongIslandGasPrices.com.

Just a month ago, (located at 225 Higbie Ln & West Islip Boulevard) and Delta (305 Union Blvd & Higbie Lane) both offered regular fuel at $3.03 per gallon.  On Monday, Valero was set at $3.21 and Delta at $3.25, and that's when customers pay with cash only. 

Gas Stop (268 Higbie Ln. & Paumanake Avenue) is also offering regular at $3.25 per gallon when paying with cash.

In that same month span, the Long Island average price for regular rose from $3.17 to $3.31--- 2 cents above the current New York average and 21 cents more than the national average. 

), West Islip stations had the cheapest prices from Manhattan to Montauk, at a measly $2.61 per gallon.

Now, Long Island's cheapest gas can be found at Millenium in Bay Shore for $3.11.  Numerous stations in Babylon, Smithtown, Hampton Bays and East Northport house the island's most expensive gas at a staggering $3.69 per gallon.
