La Grange Inn is Building that Most Needs a Facelift in West Islip

We asked residents which place in town is looking the worse for wear.

On Monday we asked people which building or storefront that is getting a little long in the tooth. The most popular answer is probably the most obvious one: La Grange Inn.

The historical building has been left to rot and lots of residents say it's time to do something about it. Of course, there were lots of other opinions too. Here are some of what people said on Facebook and the website about which buildings might be in need on a facelift:

Vicky Mele: LaGrange !!!!!

Gail Sherwood: LaGrange-looks like a dump!

Elizabeth Hanlon: LA GRANGE FOR SURE!!!

Kay Kelly Rizzotto: Forget face lifts. With the taxes frigid taxes we pay, we should have amenities like the town of Babylon. We have one spray park that attracts trash. Babylon has at least four spray parks. Start building up community center, parks, spray parks for families. Attract more families to neighborhoods. Stop building up ghettos! U can never take the ghetto out of the ghetto. West islip is beautiful. Do more to attract people to it.

Karina Flores: I agree w Kay Kay Kelly Rizzotto we have no amenities! I'm always going to babylon for them!! Our taxe$ should be spent in our community as well besides pensions!!! Oh and IMO La Grange should be a children's museum!!!!

Christopher Stewart: the old La grange inn .

Theresa Hoda-Del Orfano: I agree LaGrange

Roseann Adams: Beach middle school

Desiree' Luppens Aiello: The auto repair shop on corner of Udall and Muncey

Valerie Mineo Rivera: The entrance into the high school! I hate it!

Rick DeClue: Lagrange but at least the new owner is maintaining the place better.

Gregory Cortelyou: Um, let me think, oh yeah, LAGRANGE! Not sure what can be done about the rest of West Islip's buildings. Maybe bulldoze and start over. Exception: the schools and the Library.

ELLA: The Auto Service Center on the corner of Higbie Lane and Union Blvd. Do they need a permit for a used car lot?
