One local employee used his good fortune to give back to a family in need this year.
Rocco Oppedisano, who works with Good Samaritan's Engineering Planet Department, won first place in the hospital guild's 50/50 raffle. He then used the money won to purchase holiday gifts for a local family.
“I feel blessed to not only have won the Guild’s 50/50 raffle but to be able to share the winnings to bring Christmas to a family that might not have had one,” said Oppedisano.
In addition to this holiday donation, Oppedisano has spent time with his church doing free demolition work for victims of Hurricane Sandy.
In total, the Good Samaritan Hospital Guilds collected $6,000 from their annual holiday raffle.
