Police Seek Help in Fatal Bay Shore Crash

New York State Police are investigating a fatal car accident on the Southern State Parkway, east of 5th Avenue in Bay Shore, that happened early Monday morning.

According to police a Rockville Centre woman was driving westbound about 4:22 a.m. when her 2001 Hyundai Sonata went off the road and hit a tree on the right shoulder.

Johanna Taveras, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene by an EMT from Brentwood Ambulance.

Police as asking any witnesses to call 631-756-3000.
