Mark the Date: John Gaffney Memorial Golf Outing

The second annual John Gaffney Memorial Golf Outing will be held October 14 at the Hamlet at Willow Creek, in Mount Sinai.

Registration and breakfast is at 9:30 a.m., shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. 

The cost if $160 for golfer, $70 for dinner-only guest pass. There will be raffles and prizes. 

All proceeds raised will benefit the John Thomas Gaffney Memorial Fund, which donates money to various causes and organizations within the West Islip community. It was created by John’s parents, Teri and Kevin Gaffney and Keith McGurk — Teri’s cousin, last year in memory of the five-year-old.

Last year's golfing event raised more than $20,000.

The memorial fund also accepts donations on an ongoing basis. All contributions and payments can be sent via check made out to the John Thomas Gaffney Memorial Fund and mailed to:
