Man With 50 License Suspenions Arrested in West Islip

Louis Newman, of Bay Shore, was pulled over after driving "unusually slow," according to Suffolk County Police.

A Bay Shore man was arrested in West Islip Tuesday with 50 suspensions on his license, according to Suffolk County Police.

Louis Newman, 52, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was pulled over for driving "unusually slow" in the intersection of Udall Road and Bay Shore Road.

Newman told the officer that he did not have his license with him, Newsday reports.

A department of Motor Vehicles check revealed that Newman's license had been suspended 50 times.

He was arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
