Getting Ready: It's Almost West Islip Tri-Kids Triathlon Time

Event raises money for West Islip Health and Wellness Alliance.

The second annual West Islip Tri-Kids Triathlon is happening on Sunday, October 6 at 9 a.m. at the West Islip High School.

The event features a 100-year-swim, two-mile bike ride and a one-mile run.

The entry fee, which is due by October 4, is $25 and registration packets can be picked up at the high school.

The event is open for ages seven to 14:

  • Age 7-10: (50 yd swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run)
  • Age 11-14:(100 yd swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run)
  • Swim will be at the high school

According to the event website, the West Islip Tri-Kids Triathlon promotes participation in the aerobic sports of swimming, biking, and running and aims to foster an increased interest in overall health at an early age.

A 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to The West Islip Health and Wellness Alliance of West Islip School District.
