I have always been an avid reader, but it wasn't until my late 20's that I realized I wanted to be a writer.  I attended college and changed my major half a dozen times before I accepted writing as my calling in life.  It has become my passion, and subsequently as important as the air I breathe.

I am a news junkie and literary sponge!  A few years ago I became increasingly interested in local history here on Long Island and the more I learn the more I love our island.   I have spent most of my life living on the South Shore which include Riverhead, East Moriches, Bohemia, Islip and Bay Shore.  I have recently completed a degree in Media Arts: Communication and Journalism.

Writing for Patch is a perfect fit, since ultimately it is my dream to establish a successful career in community journalism.  I think keeping our fellow citizens informed with timely and accurate information is one of the most noble endeavors one can pursue.

I absolutely love to fish, (freshwater and saltwater), enjoy playing golf on the many beautiful courses we have here on Long Island, and find great pleasure in hiking and exploring the many parks and beaches as well as historical sites which make LI so unique.

I hope you enjoy the articles I write and find yourself more informed and enriched because of them.  Happy Reading!

"Why do writers write?  Because it isn't there." -Thomas Berger
