While students are challenged academically, they are also able to take advantage of numerous clubs and extracurricular activities as well as sports teams. The West Islip Lions have a strong tradition in sports. </p> <p>The principal of West Islip High School is Dr. Anthony Bridgeman. The associate principal is Ellen Quaglio and the administrative dean is Joann Hilbert. </p> <p>For those students who are part of the 2004 cohort (they entered ninth grade at West Islip High School in 2004), 98 percent earned a local or Regents diplomas by August 31, 2008. </p> <p>The Class of 2009 had 456 graduates of which 59 percent went on to a four-year colleges or universities and 34 percent went on to a two-year college. Some West Islip graduates go on to the best colleges and universities in the country. </p>

Founded in 1984 by Dr. Dennis Silverbloom, a lifelong resident of West Islip, West Islip Physical Therapy and Sports…More Rehabilitation is a medical center serving the town and surrounding communities.</p> <p>The physicians can help treat and diagnose all types of problems including sports and work-related injuries, disorders resulting from accidents, as well as an array of body disorders and discomforts.</p> <p>The center also offers massage therapy as well as personal training by Liz Silverbloom, for all ages, and levels including cardio, strength, flexibility and core conditioning.
