Library facilities and materials are available as is assistance from library staff.</p> <p>Residents, clergy, teachers, property owners or renters and business owners within the West Islip School District are entitled to a library card. Children, with parental consent, may apply for their own library cards.</p> <p>The director of the library is Andrew Hamm and the library is governed by a board of trustees consisting of five members. </p> <p>The library had a budget of $3,758,610 for 2010-2011. Residents can vote on the budget each year, as long as they are at least 18 years of age.</p>
