The school services students from sixth to eighth grade, before they go off to continue their academic careers at West Islip High School.</p> <p>The Beach Street Middle School offers students a complete educational opportunity. In addition to core classes, students will have the opportunity to enrich their education with an array of clubs, organizations, activities and sports teams.</p> <p>The principal is Andrew O'Farrell and the assistant principal is Lisa Martinolich.</p>

While students are challenged academically, they are also able to take advantage of numerous clubs and extracurricular activities as well as sports teams. The West Islip Lions have a strong tradition in sports. </p> <p>The principal of West Islip High School is Dr. Anthony Bridgeman. The associate principal is Ellen Quaglio and the administrative dean is Joann Hilbert. </p> <p>For those students who are part of the 2004 cohort (they entered ninth grade at West Islip High School in 2004), 98 percent earned a local or Regents diplomas by August 31, 2008. </p> <p>The Class of 2009 had 456 graduates of which 59 percent went on to a four-year colleges or universities and 34 percent went on to a two-year college. Some West Islip graduates go on to the best colleges and universities in the country. </p>
