And I would be curious to know if we are loosing money too!
WI Resident May 17, 2013 at 09:18 am
I do not believe Bridges is the school with connections, it is the other school Westbrook that isRead More being rented to friends of the BOE.

Has anyone been able to find out if we are losing money renting this building to this for profitRead More preschool? If I under stood correctly from previous post's, there may be some friendship with one or more BOE members which paved the way for their lease.

How about we use that "word of mouth" to make sure no one ever does business with this manRead More again. http://www.parentsformeganslaw.org/offender/offenderDetails.jsp How on earth can The Patch justify promoting the business of man who is on probation for CHILD PORNOGRAPHY???

We do not need another CVS. How about a movie theater or something different?

Problem is Ronnie, there are buyers. The owners won't sell. They only want to lease. That's why itRead More sits there. There were buyers who wanted to restore it several years ago but they wouldn't sell.

All of those who wish to save it- can pay for it. The building is in terribly poor shape, is anRead More eyesore (I live around the corner) and will become even worse as no one is willing to purchase it. It's nice to think landmarks should be preserved, but certainly NOT at taxpayer's cost and as long as someone is willing to do it. Wonder how many of those who don't want it torn down would say so if they lived on the same block- looking like it does now.

My pitmix has been taking rimadyl for a few years. The Vet does bloodwork on her every year becauseRead More she does does rimadyl. My dog, thankfully, has never experienced any side effects. Sorry for the loss of Buoy, their beloved pet.

Cvs needs to move their budget trucks off of Eaton Lane's side and in their Parking lot. It looksRead More like a truck stop. Making our neighborhood look trashy. Clean up or ship out!

Affordable housing is certainly not the option.

If there have been offers, why have we been mislead to believe that there have been NO other offersRead More over the past two years. I seen several postings stating that there is no one interested in this property, there have been no other offers, and CVS is the only game in town. Why all this misleading information? Is someone trying to mislead us with misinformation for financial gain? I think the community has a right to the real story BFORE CVS gets approved and maybe find out who and why this incorrect information has been posted. What is the true story here?

LaGrange has been neglected and left abandoned by the owners. There are interested buyers who wouldRead More like to restore the building and improve the area for the neighbors and the entire community. If the building eventually can't be restored due to fire or time, the owners are responsible then there should be No tax breaks or variances issued on the property.
West Islip Resident March 25, 2013 at 11:24 pm
Rich, I am in fear of exactly what you have said. An accidentally fire occuring paving the way for aRead More new building. I hope the fine members of the west islip fire department remember that it's an abandoned building if god forbid such a thing occurs and take an exterior attack approach not placing members in uneeded harms way.

No more tax breaks for the greedy. The landlord didn't maintain the property so he should lose allRead More tax breaks. The should be taxed on the worth of the property.
