Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center

<p>Good Samaritan Medical Center, located on Montauk Highway in West Islip, is a ministry of the Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Health Services of Long Island. The not-for-profit hospital opened its doors on May 18, 1959 and has been serving the community ever since. </p> <p>Good Samaritan has a reputation for providing quality care in the areas of oncology, cardiology, respiratory and surgical care. </p> <p>The hospital has a medical staff of 830 and a nursing staff of 1,200.</p> <p>Good Samaritan has earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval and was recognized as part of ANCC's (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Magnet Recognition Program.</p> <p>Volunteer opportunities are available at Good Samaritan Medical Center. There is a senior volunteer program for volunteers 18 and over and a junior volunteer program for volunteers 14 to 18.
