West Islip Run and Shoot Lacrosse Camp


Congratulations to West Islip High School Alumni and Lacrosse coach Scotty Craig and Bill Turri for another successful West Islip Run and Shoot  Lacrosse Camp.  Here, students get to learn from past West Islip High School/ current College D1 and D2 players. Here (photo DSC7666) you have the assistant coaches:  Andrew Hodgson (Townson), Mike Sagl (Quinnipiac), Scott Mattera (CW Post), Coach Scott Craig, Anthony Santo (Penn State), Kyle Turri (Duke), Coach Bill Turri, Anthony DeLuca (LIU/Adelphi), JV Coach Mike Hazelton, and Udall Middle School Coach M. Ferrugiari. Others present for the camp, but not in the photo Brendan Smith(Limestone), John Reese(Yale), Liam Byrnes (Marquette), and Jack Kelly (Brown). The camp is split into 2 sections Grades 3-7 in one group and grades 8-11 in the other.

 

Coach Craig, who was inducted to the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame this past May Has been head coach for West Islip since 1988, and has brought West Islip High School the New York Boys Lacrosse championship title 5 times so far and has made the playoffs for the past 26 years in a row. This camp welcomes the West Islip future Lacrosse Champs but is also open to the rest of Long Island, as we had players from as far east as Rocky Point and as far west as Pennsylvania this year.  Signup is in May next year and there will only be 125 positions available (45 Midfield, 30 Attack, 40 Defense and 10 Goalie).
