What's Happening This Weekend: Seafood Fest, Snapper Fishing & Soccer Tourney

Don't let the summer end without some last minute fun.

It's the weekend again, West Islip, and we all know what that means – a ton of fun events around town and nearby.

As summer winds to a close Patch wants to make sure your last few summer weekends are ones to remember.

Here are five events not to miss this weekend:

Babylon Village's Argyle Park is the scene Friday night for the weekly Village Summer Concert Series as Jan Wickline and the Amber City Band will take the gazebo stage at 7 p.m. for free.

Tanner Park in Babylon will play host Friday night to Cinderella performed by the Lumiere Ballet at 7:30 p.m. Bring the whole family down to Copiague for a free performance.

The annual and ever popular Seafood Festival hosted by the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville takes place both days of the weekend, starting at 10 a.m. each day. There's also terrific music and live performances from the area's best bands including headliners Evolution, a tribute to Journey and NYC country sensation Travis & The Longhorns. Free parking and shuttles available at Baymen Avenue  Soccer Complex, and Oakdale & Sayville train stations.  There is NO parking on site.

A Snapper Derby will take place Saturday, sponsored by the Babylon Tuna Club, for kids ages six to 12. Fishing starts at 9 a.m. This free event takes place at the Babylon Marina docks.

Also on Saturday the West Babylon Soccer Club is inviting all local soccer clubs to participate in a special soccer tournament scheduled at 9 a.m. in West Babylon's Van Bourgondien Park.
