Check out what's happening around town this weekend, Dec. 13-15.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here's a few ideas:

BACCA Concert for Philippine Relief

BACCA will host "The Concert for Philippine Relief" this Sunday, December 15 at the BACCA Arts Center on North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst. A $10 suggested donation for entry to the concert will go directly to the Kiwanis International Foundation, which has been collecting donations to help Filipinos within a week of the storm's landfall. The event is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and includes a lineup filled with local performing artists, including Gene Casey, Ken Talve Trio, Hank Stone Band, Grand Folk Railroad, Perfect Strangers and Gabe D'Antoni.

Old Fashioned Village Christmas

The holiday tradition kicks off on Friday 5 p.m. and lasts all evening through to 9 p.m. after being postponed due to weather last week. Local businesses will be holding sales, selling festive items and even some yummy snacks while Christmas music is playing. An added safety bonus this year as Deer Park Avenue closes down for the event! Santa Claus will ride up and down Deer Park Avenue starting at 5:30 p.m., being pulled on a horse-drawn carriage. Children will be invited into the carriage for a photograph with the holly jolly one.
