West Islip Agenda: Flag Retirement Ceremony, Craft Fair

You can put away that hat and gloves this weekend. After some bone chilling temperatures this week, Mother Nature is giving us a bit of a reprieve with the mercury expected to reach the upper 50s on Saturday and Sunday. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, here's a few ideas:

Get your Zumba on for a great cause Friday night as at event the whole family can enjoy. The PTA fundraising event will be held at Oquenock Elementary School in West Islip. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for children

Fundraiser

Holiday Fair

The Jewish Center of Bay Shore is holding its annual Sisterhood Hanukkah Holiday Vendor and craft Fair on Nov. 17 starting at 10 a.m. The center is located at 34 North Clinton Ave, Bay Shore.

The Town of Babylon will host a flag retirement ceremony at Babylon Town Hall this Saturday to properly dispose of old flags with respect from our area's veterans. The town will host the ceremony, which will include a how-to on proper disposition of our nation's most well-known symbol, starting at 10 a.m.

LINDENHURST

St. John’s Lutheran Church Annual Craft Fair

Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4  p.m.

The annual event includes handmade crafts, raffle table, 50/50 raffle, baked goods, toys, and jewelry.  Refreshments & lunch will be available.  St. John’s Thrift Shoppe will also be open during the Fair.

Chinese Auction and Fashion Show

Friday 7 p.m.

Lindenhurst Varsity Cheerleaders will put on a fashion show and Chinese auction to help raise money to help the team get to Nationals in Orlando. Tickets will cost $30.
