Register for Library Programs, Donate to Help a Good Cause

It's time to get organized for the week.

The first thing to do this week is get down to the West Islip Library and register for all the great programs happening in September and October.

Registration for most programs will begin on Tuesday, September 3 at 10 am at the Reference Desk. 

The recent newsletter sent to residents reveals something for everyone and everyone's interest.

Here's just a peek at some programs this week:

Blood Pressure Screening
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 4.
This community service is courtesy of Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter’s office and the Our Lady of Consolation Residence nursing staff.

Senior Fitness Class
Sept. 6
11 a.m. to 12 noon
$20
Program offers a series of gentle exercises geared toward increasing range of motion and flexibility. Bring 1-3 lb. hand weights, a water bottle, and a face towel. 

Adult Services Programs Tech Time 
Do you have a tech-related question concerning a laptop, cell phone,iPod or e-reader? We can help you to navigate the world of gadgets and giz-mos! Call the Reference Desk at 661-7080 to arrange for a one-on-one training session for for more information.

Registration is also happening this week for South Shore Theatre Experience Fall program. Sign up on September 3, 6 p.m. at 350 Higbie Lane West.

Donate to Help a Great Organization
Also as Fall approaches it's a great time to clean out those book cases and the jewelry case. Donations of both are being accepted by the Friends of the West Islip Library who hope to raise money by selling the items during the upcoming Country Fair
