The final week of October ends with that hallowed holiday we all loved as kids, Halloween, and there’s plenty of events and programs happening before it arrives on Thursday.
Weather wise it should be a bit warmer this week than last where we saw temps hit the low 50s during daytime hours and even lower at night. Predictions by weather.com show mid to high 50s with a temp of 61 degrees by Friday. That should make trick or treating a bit more enjoyable on Thursday.
West Islip Board of Education planning session starts at 8 p.m. at the district office boardroom.
Town Zoning Board of Appeals meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
WednesdayA senior exercise class (arthritis friendly) will be held at 10 a.m. at the West Islip Library. This new session of senior exercise classes led by Vicki Luckman (fitness specialist and certified by the arthritis foundation). The class consists sitting and standing utilizing light hand weights, exercise rubber band, a ball the size of a grapefruit, and a scarf or kerchief. All participants are required to bring their own equipment and a water bottle. West islip residents sign up on Oct 30 and non residents on Oct 31. Space is limited.

The first day of November arrives and kicks off the first November weekend which is also the end of Daylight Savings Time so don’t forget to set the clocks back Saturday night.
