What’s Ahead This Week:
News To Come
Patch will have a story regarding the process of sexual offender residency given the news of an offender living near a West Islip learning program at Westbrook Elementary. Offenders are not allowed to live within a quarter mile of a school or registered day care facility and are monitored while on probation and parole. But once released from those conditions making sure offenders are not breaking residency rules is local law enforcement’s domain, specifically the Megan Law unit of the SCPD and Patch will have insight on how residents can help the police when there’s a potential issue.
